It all started with a yellow hoodie and a new iPhone 11. Lindsey was working at the Fairmont Ave. US Cellular when she helped James and his father with their purchase. After a friendly chat, she thought nothing more of it—until she kept running into James. Whether it was at a gas station, a bar, or a club, he seemed to pop up everywhere, though Lindsey convinced herself they were just coincidences.

Then, about two weeks later, while following up on the iPhone purchase, Lindsey looked up the account holder’s name on Facebook to make the process easier. She expected to find Jim Stevens' profile, but instead, it was James who appeared. She messaged him—regretting it almost immediately—but then, while flipping through Tinder later, she spotted his profile there too. With a shrug, she swiped right. Turns out, he had swiped right too, and they matched. Their conversation quickly took off, and they made plans to hang out.

After their first hangout, James told her he wasn’t looking for a relationship but wanted to be friends (he was nervous and didn’t want to lead anyone on). Lindsey, a little bummed, agreed, realizing she’d like him in her life either way. On Valentine’s weekend, things shifted when he kissed her goodbye, and their relationship quickly took off. A few dates later, James nervously asked, “So, do you want to be my girlfriend... or whatever?” Lindsey laughed and said yes, and they were inseparable from that point on.

They celebrated milestones like their two-month anniversary and Lindsey’s birthday, making memories that only grew stronger. One night, after answering a couple’s quiz, Lindsey accidentally stumbled on the words “I love you.” James, with a grin, blurted it out first, and from that moment, they knew they were unstoppable.

They found their way to eastern WV, met wonderful people they’re honored to call friends, and even purchased a home.
